Pete Brown
Boss Monkey
Pete Brown never grew up. Whether writing new titles, plotting new stories or reviewing kid lit on our blog, Pete spends most of his waking day buried deep in his imagination.
Pete has been writing professionally for more than 15 years, has won multiple AP and Society for Professional Journalism awards, and is currently focused on projects that bridge technology and narrative across different media – including print, video games, educational software and interactive reading experiences.
He is the very proud father of a son and daughter, both young readers, and wrote the very first Blue Monkey Books title for his son as a Christmas gift.
Pete's all-time favorite kid books: Hang Tough, Paul Mather by Alfred Slote, Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell, The Toothpaste Millionaire by Jean Merrill

Brian Hake
Scribble Monkey
Designer, musician and father of two growing boys, Brian is the monkey who gives the covers of new Blue Monkey Books titles their unique look and feel, makes certain anything visual we create is simple, clean and easy on the eyes, and lets us know when a story is "too scary" or "not scary enough" or "mentions poop too much."
A lifelong musician with several indie rock albums to his credit, Brian has most recently enjoyed portraying Eddie Van Halen in the Van Halen cover band Van Haken.
Brian's all-time favorite kid books: Bats at the Beach by Brian Lies, Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? by Dr. Seuss, The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano & Susan Banta

Seth Lilly
Code Monkey
Great writing is one thing, but without our unique Bookinatr™ technology to power Blue Monkey Books, there's no way we'd be able to crank out custom paperbacks as quickly or as affordably as we can. Seth's the architect who built and maintains the Bookinatr...when he's not busy chasing after his three sons and lone daughter, drinking Diet Coke, building apps, or working on his next musical project.
As a kid, Seth loved reading, often taking volumes of the World Book Encyclopedia to bed with him. He's thankful for parents who encouraged him to read and provided him with materials to do so.
Follow Seth on Twitter and circle him on Google+.
Seth's all-time favorite kid books: The Day Daddy Stayed Home by Ethel Kessler, The Monster at the End of This Book by Jon Stone, The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss, The World Book Encyclopedia
